Far esperienza di quel che si sta vivendo

Allestire insieme ai giovani contesti sociali in cui far esperienza

Sono ormai 25 anni che lavoriamo allestendo spazi, contesti, luoghi con i giovani perché avvenga quello che noi abbiamo più volte sperimentato in prima persona: un apprendimento esistenziale che dia anima alla crescita piena delle persone e che solleciti a sortire insieme dai problemi. Costruire contesti sociali in cui lo “stare insieme”  è progettato per “fare qualcosa insieme” ha permesso all’innovazione, alla creatività di fare fiorire progetti di senso per singoli e per gruppi e addirittura di offrire un contributo di rigenerazione di legami e della comunità. In questa rivista abbiamo raccontato di Spazio X e di Meltin Pop come imprese giovanili che ripensavano una prassi di intervento di politiche giovanili e di animazione sociale e culturale e che pur, con limiti e criticità, ha costituito per molti (e i numeri di coloro che sono venuti a visitare quelle esperienze sono importanti, con nostro stupore,) una possibilità di riflessione su come porre i giovani al centro della riorganizzazione della speranza e del futuro  delle nostre città. La nostra ricerca, sollecitata anche dall’interesse che molti hanno mostrato per questi esperimenti, non si è affatto conclusa. Si è allargata su territori diversi ed ha messo al centro oggetti nuovi e antichi. L’oggetto che una serie di spazi di nuova generazione sta  sollecitando è quello dell’apprendimento dall’esperienza.

E’ noto ormai a tutti il dato dell’incidenza dell’educazione non formale nella formazione delle giovani generazioni e della connessione fra questo dato e l’attenzione al tema delle competenze acquisite in tali situazioni come facilitanti l’immissione e la permanenza nel mondo del lavoro.

Se a questo dato aggiungiamo la riflessione su quanto sia importante oggi sapersi muovere fra apprendimento di tipo 2 o deuteroappredimento che semplifichiamo descrivendolo con il “come si fa ad apprendere” e quello di tipo 3 o terziario, che definiamo l’apprendere a disapprendere, così come vengono presentati da Bauman in una specifica rilettura di Bateson ragionando sull’apprendimento nella società liquida (La società individualizzata il Mulino, Bologna, 2002  pp 159-161), ecco che le ragioni per porre attenzione a questi temi ci sembrano forti.

Per questo e per la necessità di definire una cornice adeguata all’oggi, per la propria azione animativa/educativa la questione dell’apprendimento dall’esperienza e delle condizioni che lo facilitano è cruciale.

 

Pertanto, cosa significa oggi allestire luoghi, spazi, contesti in cui sia possibile apprendere dall’esperienza?

Intanto dobbiamo partire da cosa significhi apprendere dall’esperienza, che da un certo punto sembrerebbe assiomatico e autoevidente, ma che, in realtà richiede, un certo livello di attenzione.

Innanzitutto tale approccio deve essere assunto come criterio ordinatore delle attività, degli strumenti, dei ruoli che vengono messi in atto[1], ove si intenda per esperienza l’esito di un processo di trasformazione che l’individuo opera e conduce da un fatto dell’esistenza, da una situazione della realtà, a un apprendimento.

In tale ottica, l’esperienza è una forma di sapere profonda, che nasce dalla vita quotidiana e dalla sua rielaborazione, che non è data, ma si costruisce dinamicamente in maniera del tutto soggettiva, processuale, non lineare, mettendo  la persona nell’opportunità di entrare in rapporto con il mondo e di trasformarlo e, viceversa e contestualmente, consentendo alla persona il cambiamento (l’azione animativa e formativa) attraverso il rapporto con la realtà (fatta di persone, oggetti, ambienti, tecnologie, ecc.).

 

Gli ingredienti per facilitare

Operare come animatori giovanili significa, in questa prospettiva, operare per favorire il processo di trasformazione dei fatti in esperienze, costruendo situazioni e attività che ne permettano lo sviluppo  con un’attenzione concentrata sulla persona come soggetto in apprendimento, attivo, più o meno consapevole, ma certamente protagonista e responsabile della situazione e non soltanto “contenitore” destinato a raccogliere conoscenze trasmesse da chi ha il ruolo di formatore o di animatore, come secondo il paradigma di trasmissione del sapere definito “depositario”.

 

 

Situazioni che ancorano al reale

coinvolgendo tutto il soggetto B

L’animatore o l’animatrice che agisce in prospettiva esperienziale facilita il percorso dei soggetti in apprendimento agendo secondo un orientamento trasformativo, non sostituendosi, non limitandosi a fornire un modello da imitare, o a mettere in atto una situazione protetta, ma costruendo una situazione reale, che possa essere vissuta ed esperita, sia pure all’interno di un contesto che possiamo definire, se pensiamo ad uno spazio giovanile, un centro di aggregazione, ad un ambiente  sociale definito, come setting intenzionalmente pensato. La portata di realtà risiede tanto nel fatto, nella situazione in sé, che può essere attivata, quanto perché collocata all’interno della reale vita sociale, quotidiana, formativa e, in quanto tale, connotata da elevati margini di imprevedibilità, anche in termini di esiti di apprendimento.

 

Situazioni in cui si è presi

In questo senso, occorre che l’animatore, in quanto facilitatore dell’apprendimento dall’esperienza, possa proporre situazioni di apprendimento (o riconoscerle mentre si verificano, cogliendole nell’attimo stesso in cui si manifestano, dopo averne scorto la potenzialità educativa o formativa) rispettando la presenza di alcune condizioni che mettano in evidenza il valore educativo della situazione stessa, come la presenza di elementi considerati problematici (potenzialmente generatori di questioni), di opportuna progettazione e di intenzionalità nel trattare in termini di apprendimento i fatti che costituiscono l’esperienza, in contesti formali, non formali ed informali. Questa acquisirà valore pedagogico in quanto, come si affermava sopra, è ancorata alla realtà, è autentica e non artefatta (anche se può essere proposta intenzionalmente), è complessa e totale, implicando funzioni percettive, sensoriali, emozionali, razionali e relazionali attivabili criticamente e con l’attitudine a problematizzare, ossia a porsi domande, è in grado di produrre effetti trasformativi sulla realtà.

Secondo la logica dell’apprendimento esperienziale, la persona acquisisce e trasmette conoscenze profonde (su di sé, sugli altri, sulla realtà esterna) a partire dal vivere situazioni reali che, inevitabilmente, la mettono in relazione con oggetti, ambienti e problemi, ma anche con le altre persone e, profondamente, con se stessa, oscillando tra la dimensione conscia e quella inconscia.

Affinché, tuttavia, il processo di trasformazione dal fatto all’esperienza si possa compiere, è necessario che trovino spazio momenti (e movimenti, secondo Piergiorgio Reggio) di azione e di pausa, ritmi diversi, sospensioni, rallentamenti ed accelerazioni, ondeggiamenti e continua dialettica tra quanto avviene in sé e quanto accade al di fuori[2], così come rotture rispetto alla ruotine, cesure nella quotidianità, che permettono l’apertura di uno spazio, di un intervallo, oltre il quale sarà mutato il ritmo, quale esito dell’avvenuta trasformazione oltre il quale, ad esempio, si proverà un nuovo modo di pensare o di fare una cosa nota, e se ne avrà coscienza.

 

Non ipotesi ingenieristiche

ma “climi di possibilità” A

Fin qui però abbiamo trattato di come debbano essere le situazioni che l’animatore propone o in cui si inserisce per favorire l’apprendimento dall’esperienza. Noi ora però vogliamo riflettere su quali siano i contesti che permettono questo tipo di apprendimento.

Innanzitutto vorrei fermarmi sul concetto di contesto. Il contesto è il complesso di situazioni in cui si verificano i fatti ma è anche ciò che permette di rendere pienamente significativo un fatto stesso. Il contesto è elemento di sfondo che però agisce fortemente definendo ciò che si possa o meno fare in quel momento in quel luogo.

Agire sul contesto significa quindi interrogarsi su quali elementi presenti, legati tra loro in un sistema, permettano più facilmente l’emersione di fatti significativi da poter rileggere e trasformare in esperienza e su quali condizioni debbano essere costruite per agire in tal maniera.

In questo senso, ci stimola la riflessione connessa alla metafora proposta da Ken Robinson[3] :

 

La Valle della morte è il posto più arido degli Stati Uniti dove non cresce mai nulla. Non cresce nulla perché non piove. Ma nell’inverno del 2004 ha piovuto nella Valle della morte. Sono caduti 17 cm di acqua in poco tempo e nella primavera del 2005 si è verificato uno strano fenomeno: l’intera valle della morte si è coperta di fiori. Questo fenomeno prova che la Valle della morte non è morta. È solo addormentata. Sotto la superficie sono sepolti i semi che attendono le condizioni adatte per spuntare. Nei sistemi organici, se le condizioni sono quelle giuste, la vita è inevitabile. Succede sempre così. Prendete una scuola, un quartiere, cambiate le condizioni, date alla gente un diverso senso delle possibilità, un panorama di aspettative diverso, una gamma più ampia di opportunità, curate, valorizzate le relazioni tra docenti e allievi, offrite alle persone la facoltà di essere creativi e di innovare quello che fanno, e le scuole che prima erano aride, depauperate, rinasceranno a nuova vita.

I grandi leader lo sanno. Il vero ruolo della leadership nella formazione — e penso che sia vero a livello nazionale, a livello statale e a livello scolastico – non è e non dovrebbe essere di comando e di controllo. Il vero ruolo della leadership è il controllo del clima, per creare un clima di possibilità. E se si fa, le persone ci arriveranno da sole e faranno cose che non sarebbe stato possibile anticipare e prevedere.

 

Anche per gli animatori che operano in contesti sociali noi crediamo si attagli questa breve riflessione di Robinson, sia perché stiamo parlando di apprendimento, sia perché esiste un problema legato a quale posizione l’animatore debba tenere nei confronti del proprio contesto: è in posizione di “comando/controllo” o si deve preoccupare del clima?

Noi propendiamo per questa seconda ipotesi. Gli animatori oggi possono forse fare molto di più agendo con le persone nel costruire climi di possibilità. Con le persone, altrimenti diventiamo di nuovo vittima di ipotesi ingegneristiche del sociale dove le persone spariscono a favore di complesse letture dei sistemi. I sistemi esistono e sono importanti, ma sono fatti dalle persone che li costituiscono.

Se dobbiamo preoccuparci delle condizioni climatiche che permettono alla possibilità di apprendimento di affiorare, significa che il lavoro da fare deve confrontarsi con alcuni elementi che probabilmente la possibilità la soffocano. Che la inaridiscono.

 

Un vero allenamento

Ad esempio, la trasformazione dei fatti in esperienza richiede che ci si fermi, ci si interroghi su cosa si è fatto e si rifletta su quali cambiamenti si potrebbero operare in futuro. Ma tutto ciò avviene utilizzando (anche quando è fatto in solitudine, nella nostra mente) la verbalizzazione.

Quando si lavora con giovani o adulti la cui capacità di verbalizzazione è ridotta, si rischia di non riuscire nell’operazione generando frustrazione su frustrazione. A meno che si riesca a costruire modalità in cui si facilita la verbalizzazione, in cui a poco a poco le persone si abituano a domandarsi cosa sta accadendo e ad ascoltare le risposte di sé e degli altri…

Ma lavorare sulla creazione di contesti di apprendimento significa, a questo punto, anche farsi interrogare su quali situazioni già esistono in cui potenzialmente le persone potrebbero allenarsi a verbalizzare i propri stati d’animo per poi proseguire nel lavoro di trasformazione dei fatti in esperienza di cui abbiamo parlato prima. Ad esempio, alcuni social network popolari (facebook, twitter…) stimolano nelle persone la micro-narrazione di cosa stanno pensando: la domanda nella barra di stato è proprio “a cosa stai pensando”. La risposta è molto variabile: c’è chi si racconta, chi usa parole di altri, chi mette immagini, chi canzoni. A volte il meccanismo attivato è poco riflettuto e compulsivo, a volte è un capolavoro di sintesi ed efficacia comunicativa.

Perché gli animatori non possono utilizzare questi, e altri, stimoli che il contesto virtuale oggi offre per “allenare” alla verbalizzazione dei propri pensieri che è poi la base dell’apprendimento esperienziale?

 

Alternare momenti di azione

e momenti di pausa riflessiva B

Stando sempre dentro la metafora climatologica: c’è bisogno di pioggia ma anche di sole, di nuvole stanziali e di giornate ventose, di neve e ghiaccio e di caldo torrido. I climi delle zone fertili variano nel corso dell’anno. E per l’apprendimento?

Per apprendere in contesti sociali abbiamo bisogno di momenti di azione e di momenti di pausa. Di pieni e di vuoti.

Per molto tempo si è pensato che l’animatore dovesse preoccuparsi di “fornire attività”, di costruire continui contesti di attivazione perchè le persone potessero apprendere. In altri momenti, soprattutto in ambito più educativo, si è posto tutto sulla centralità della relazione che sta nei “vuoti”, nelle pause, nel “non far niente”, nello stare insieme.

Regolare il clima di possibilità di apprendimento richiede invece che si diventi abili nell’allestire  situazioni di attivazione che siano precedute e seguite da tempi di vuoto, che diventano momenti generativi di riflessività. La riflessione difficilmente si attiva in situazioni frenetiche. Richiede tempo per se, le giuste domande, migliora molto in luoghi dove la bellezza ti obbliga a prendere fiato, in cui il guardare avviene attraverso tutti i sensi ed esprime già una pienezza. E’ la sensazione che si ha di fronte a paesaggi che richiamano l’infinito, la natura, gli elementi primordiali (il fuoco…).

Ci sono luoghi che incitano al fare ed altri che spingono a riflettere. Perchè?

Credo che sia dato dal fatto che alcune situazioni/contesti attivano la nostra curiosità ed altri attivano la nostra dimensione contemplativa.

I primi sono pieni di “sfide”: ci sono spazi e manufatti che ci chiamano, che per come sono fatti o per ciò che possono significare richiedono una nostra presenza attiva. Non possiamo infatti dimenticare che tutti gli oggetti che ci circondano sono pregni di conoscenza. E’ una conoscenza depositata in meccanismi, forme, membrane, che diventa operativa nel loro funzionamento. Questa “conoscenza reificata” può stimolarci, può diventare un elemento con il quale confrontarci.

E la forma di conoscenza su questo livello non sempre segue i percorsi cognitivi astratti: è talvolta una conoscenza più “carnale” perchè passa attraverso le mani, attraverso la capacità di montare/smontare/distruggere/costruire che ci collega costantemente all’opera incessante che ogni bambino in età prescolare compie per conoscere il mondo.

Lasciare in bella mostra una stampante in 3d mentre funziona non può non stimolare la curiosità. Se poi è collegato un pc con un programma di progettazione facile da approcciare, allora questo si pone come un invito a “metterci le mani”.

I luoghi di riflessione sono invece luoghi dove la bellezza, la perfezione, il rimando all’infinito bloccano i nostri processi di trasformazione del mondo e ci mettono a confronto con la trascendenza. Dove la pienezza di attivazione di tutti i nostri sensi è tale da lasciar fluire i pensieri per come emergono, senza il bisogno immediato di dare ordine, di organizzare.

 

Disseminare i luoghi

di marcatori di senso B

Molte volte i luoghi destinati ai giovani sono l’esatto contrario di quanto ora accennato, dove è impossibile scorgere bellezza, cura, armonia. Pensiamo a certi centri giovanili, a molte scuole.

Per apprendere, abbiamo bisogno che i luoghi diventino “luoghi dotati di senso”, ossia contesti pensati, dove questa alternanza tra vuoti e pieni possa avvenire con una certa fluidità, per permettere alle persone di appropriarsene, di interiorizzarla. I contesti sono luoghi dotati di senso, sia che il senso sia dato da qualcuno che lo ha pensato, sia del senso che naturalmente gli esseri umani cercano di attribuire ai luoghi che incontrano al fine di non smarrirsi. Per la nostra riflessione poniamo l’accento su quelli in cui c’è uno sforzo animativo da parte di qualcuno per disseminare il luogo di tanti “marcatori di senso”: lasciare in bella vista un calcetto oppure no contribuisce da subito a proporre un senso da attribuire a quel luogo (qui si gioca, è simile all’oratorio…).

La nostra ipotesi è che un certo mix di oggetti e di spazi insieme ad un certo mix di persone possa generare contesti sociali in cui l’apprendimento esperienziale sia possibile.

Del mix di oggetti in parte abbiamo già detto, ma qui rimarchiamo la necessità di predisporre marcatori di attivazione e spazi per lo stare, per la riflessione, per la contemplazione.

 

 

 

Adulti capaci di attiv-azioni

e  di inter-azioni deponenti A

Le persone invece: ci siamo resi conto che, così come è necessario che ci siano spazi per l’azione e spazi per la riflessione, è necessario che ci siano adulti competenti sul fare ed adulti competenti sull’apprendere. Abbiamo bisogno che gli spazi per i giovani ed adolescenti siano abitati anche da “artigiani”, da persone che con le mani e le competenze ci lavorano quotidianamente perché sono essi stessi “marcatori di senso” dello spazio.

Adulti che siano capaci di coinvolgere nella propria passione trasformativa e creativa i giovani con cui entrano in contatto; che siano in grado di mostrare come ogni gesto è frutto di un “sapere in azione” (che è una delle definizioni di competenze di Cepollaro[4]).

Possiamo dire che questi adulti sono chiamati a costruire ATTIV-AZIONI, mentre per quelli che si occupano di apprendimento parleremo di  INTER-AZIONI DEPONENTI.

Chi sa un po’ di latino sa che i verbi deponenti sono verbi che hanno forma passiva e valore attivo.

Vogliamo qui descrivere quindi la funzione adulta come capace di mettersi in gioco interpretando un duplice ruolo quello di colui che mette in campo interazioni attive di cui abbiamo già detto, ma anche interazioni deponenti.

In questo caso la richiesta all’adulto è quella di pensarsi attivo in una modalità che si presenti passiva, mettendo in campo alcune specifiche modalità di azione che facilitano la fluidità del costruire e dell’abitare  contesti che permettano l’apprendimento di cui abbiamo parlato.

 

Un adulto che sai stupirsi

delle risorse dei soggetti B

La prima è una grande capacità di ascolto. Chi vuole favorire l’apprendimento, deve allenarsi a stare in atteggiamento di ascolto e di un ascolto non preconcetto, non giudicante e profondo, nei confronti di qualsiasi soggetto. Ma dirò di più.. a noi piace in questo tempo parlare di ascolto ammirato della bellezza delle risorse  dei soggetti, della loro intelligenza tacita che fiorisce quando è messa in condizione di farlo.. che siano essi ragazzi oppure adulti. E’ dallo stupore che nasce il sapere. Sugata Mitra afferma “Dobbiamo guardare l’apprendimento come il prodotto di auto-organizzazione didattica. Se si permette al processo didattico di auto-gestirsi, poi l’apprendimento emerge. Non riguarda il creare l’apprendimento. È lasciare che si manifesti da solo. L’insegnante mette in moto il processo e poi si mette da parte sbalordito e guarda come avviene l’apprendimento. Penso che sia questo il nocciolo della questione.”[5]

 

Un adulto sensibile

all’arte delle connessioni B

La seconda funzione ha a che fare con la capacità di costruire connessioni. Condividere le risorse specifiche di ciascuno per realizzare progetti in comune,  evitando di sprecare risorse, senza paura di mescolarsi, immaginando di guadagnare invece che di perdere dalla riduzione di autonomia. Assumersi la responsabilità di connettere non significa imporre un progetto precostituito in cui gli altri devono inserirsi, ma provare a parlarsi, a confrontarsi, a negoziare percorsi, provare a ricercare insieme e ad organizzare la ricerca.

 

Un adulto si sa vulnerabile

e abita la complessità B

Terza azione è quella  dell’imparare a riconoscere la propria  debolezza, la propria vulnerabilità e non aver paura di mostrarla. La possibilità del mettersi insieme nasce dal riconoscimento del fatto che siamo tutti quanti vulnerabili, che non c’è qualcuno che sta in una posizione di forza e qualcun altro di debolezza.

Un’altra azione deponente, che è tale perché comporta il riconoscere la propria impotenza, è accettare che viviamo in un tempo di complessità, e che questa complessità va abitata e non va governata, non è possibile governarla, bisogna accettarla e starci dentro provando a misurarsi con i cambiamenti possibili lavorando per costruire piccoli laboratori di innovazione.

 

Un adulto che lascia spazio

e da fare spazio B

L’ultima, azione deponente, è quella del fare spazio. Io lo dico in due versioni, lasciare spazio e fare spazio. Fare spazio vuol dire costruire contesti, luoghi fisici e mentali in cui sia possibile che le persone si ri-incontrino e ragionino sulle loro esperienze e si confrontino, ma anche ed è un invito a lasciare spazio, permettere al nuovo che è insito nelle generazioni che ci seguono possa trovare una sua espressione adeguata.

Se non si fa spazio il rischio è che si immagini di rispondere alle sfide che l’oggi ci porta con la ripetizione di meccanismi di funzionamento che sono noti e in quanto tali pensati per rispondere a sfide che abbiamo incontrato in passato e che non riescono a cogliere gli elementi di novità che il contesto ci mette a disposizione.

 

Due competenza per abitare

la complessità A

Torniamo a porre il nostro sguardo sui destinatari dell’intervento segnalando due attenzioni per sperimentare altre competenze necessarie per attraversare questo tempo ed abitare la complessità che lo caratterizza.

La prima è relativa al  portarsi dietro in modo non rigido, ma curioso l’esperienza accumulata nel muoversi nella pluralità delle culture. Si tratta della questione della trasferibilità degli apprendimenti, del ritenere essenziale la costruzione dei contesti che abbiamo descritto solo se strutturano competenze utilizzabili anche al di fuori di quel contesto medesimo.

La seconda ha a che fare con l’allenamento ad accettare il rischio e con esso l’inevitabile possibilità  di errore e di fallimento. La riflessioni qui deve fare i conti con una connotazione negativa dell’errore che sembra essere pervasiva in una cultura iperprestativa che colpevolizza in maniera cieca la sperimentazione che sfa dei passaggi a vuoto una condizione di normalità.

 

 

Utilizzare l’esperienza dentro

la pluralità dei contesti culturali B

Prima di concludere, un ultimo accenno ad una azione di tipo diverso che l’animatore deve presidiare: è la possibilità di accompagnare attentamente il processo di rielaborazione delle esperienze che si fanno nello spazio/contesto e di utilizzare tutta la propria carica innovativa per costruire strumenti che permettano di acquisire la meta-competenza di comunicare i propri pensieri, i propri stati d’animo, le proprie strategie al di fuori del contesto sociale e culturale in cui sono maturate…

Questo però può avvenire solo ad una condizione: che le persone siano consapevoli delle proprie risorse e che abbiamo sviluppato una meta-competenza che è di tipo pluri-culturale.

La capacità di utilizzare saperi, abilità, valori, atteggiamenti sperimentati in un contesto in un altro richiede che si sia capaci di “leggere” il nuovo contesto nelle sue dimensioni di regole, valori, abitudini, significati condivisi e di saper combinare in maniera nuova ed originale le proprie risorse per rispondere adeguatamente alle richieste del nuovo contesto. Richiede quella capacità di “mobilità cognitiva” che usa chi è in grado di comunicare in diverse lingue, quando passa in veloce sequenza da un universo linguistico ad un altro senza confondere livelli, suoni, parole, costruzioni sintattiche. Per tutto questo è necessario allenarsi, e quindi i contesti di apprendimento esperienziale devono anche curare questa parte, anche con esperienze reali di tipo multiculturale dove poter esercitarsi dal vivo. Gli scambi giovanili internazionali possono essere in questo senso un grande campo di apprendimento.

 

Rapportarsi con l’errore,

il rischio, il fallimento B

Infine, una dimensione importante dentro al tema dell’apprendimento esperienziale e delle competenze lo riveste il rapporto con l’errore e il rischio, perché ci dice quanto siamo liberi di sperimentare e quanto invece no.

Damiano chiama mediatori culturali le modalità con cui ri-rappresentiamo l’oggetto culturale che è ciò che dobbiamo conoscere. I mediatori si collocano su un continuum che va da meno reale/meno rischioso a più reale/più rischioso (dalla lezione al tirocinio). Nelle situazioni dove si è lontani dal reale si attiva un “come se” che ci permette poi con una serie di passaggi di cogliere elementi validi per la realtà che viviamo. All’altro lato siamo molto vicini al “come è” dove il passaggio da ciò che si è sperimentato a ciò che esiste nella propria realtà è quasi contiguo.

Nei contesti di apprendimento esperienziale che stiamo delineando la scelta ricade nella parte del continuum molto vicina alla realtà, visto che si offre la possibilità di “mettere mano” alle cose, di sperimentare, e nel misurarsi con il reale anche di rischiare il fallimento. La scelta potrebbe sembrare paradossale: se vogliamo facilitare l’assunzione di rischi, il modo più consueto è quello di stare nel “come se”, dove il rischio esiste dal punto di vista dell’esperienza emotiva e cognitiva che se ne fa, ma non ha conseguenze sul piano di realtà. Noi invece scegliamo di stare in situazione e di accettare il rischio ed il fallimento per quello che sono nella vita reale.

Però qui dobbiamo compiere una mutazione semantica dei termini errore e fallimento, allontanandoli dai sistemi di valutazione propri della scuola e avvicinandoli a quello che avviene nel mondo del gioco.

L’errore ed il fallimento nel gioco sono dimensioni continuamente presenti, connesse direttamente con la sfida alla quale si partecipa ed è null’altro che un sistema di feedback che mi permette un miglioramento successivo. L’errore è quindi addirittura una “molla motivazionale” che permette di migliorarmi continuamente. Ecco quindi un altro mix: da una parte è necessario costruire contesti in cui il successo sia alla portata di tutti (contesti che generano inclusione), ma in cui non sparisca la dimensione della fallibilità collegata alla sfida ma ne venga trasformato il senso al fine di motivare al miglioramento continuo.

Così prende un senso diverso la spinta all’imprenditività e anche all’autoimpiego che in molte delle esperienze di spazi giovanili nuove sta prendendo piede. Non è semplicemente (se così si può dire) un luogo dove gli “animal spirits” hanno la possibilità di scatenarsi, ma è un luogo dove le persone possono esercitare appieno la propria spinta a trasformare il mondo, partecipando alle intraprese degli altri, proponendo intraprese a se ed agli altri.
